O rapper norte-americano Kendrick Lamar, com cinco galardões, e a cantora Taylor Swift, com três, incluindo o melhor álbum por “1989”, foram os grandes vencedores da 58.ª edição dos Prémio Grammy, entregues, esta noite, em Los Angeles.
Kendrick Lamar foi distinguido pelo melhor álbum de rap (“To Pimp Up a Butterfly”), melhor canção e atuação de rap (“Alright”), melhor colaboração de rap (“These Walls”) e melhor 'videoclip', por “Bad Blood” (com Taylor Swift).
Contudo, o galardão mais ambicionado – o de melhor álbum do ano – foi para Taylor Swift, que venceu também na categoria de melhor 'videoclip' (“Bad Blood”) e de melhor álbum de pop vocal.
A cantora tornou-se assim na primeira mulher a ganhar duas vezes o principal troféu do evento.
Rihanna cancelou atuação
A cantora Rihanna cancelou à última hora a atuação prevista para a 58.ª edição dos Prémios Grammy, invocando problemas vocais.
Rihanna, originária dos Barbados, foi vista a entrar no Staples Center, em Los Angeles, onde tem lugar a gala, mas a cerimónia prosseguiu sem a sua atuação.
Fontes da produção do evento indicaram ao portal TMZ que a artista abandonou o recinto após os ensaios devido a problemas de bronquite.
Apesar de se ter oposto inicialmente a renunciar à atuação, Rihanna acabou por acatar as recomendações de um médico no local da gala, tendo a cantora deixado o lugar sem desfilar pela passadeira vermelha.
Estava previsto que a artista interpretasse a música "Kiss It Better" do seu novo álbum "ANTI", lançado em janeiro.
Lady Gaga prestou tributo a Bowie
O tributo de Lady Gaga a David Bowie foi um dos momentos que marcaram a cerimónia, em que também foram homenageados outros músicos falecidos, como Glenn Frey, Maurice White ou B.B. King.
Com um jogo de luzes que desenhou sobre a sua face os mil e um rostos do camaleónico David Bowie, Lady Gaga ofereceu um espetáculo muito visual e colorido, que cruzou músicas do artista britânico como "Space Oddity", "Changes" ou "Ziggy Stardust", com o grande final a chegar com "Heroes" e a exibição de uma imagem de David Bowie sobre um fundo espacial.
O tributo a Bowie não foi o único da noite, já que Jackson Browne e os membros dos The Eagles tocaram juntos "Take It Easy" para honrarem o desaparecido Glenn Frey.
Além disso, Stevie Wonder recordou Maurice White, fundador dos Earth, Wind & Fire, enquanto Chris Stapleton, Gary Clark Jr. e Bonnie Raitt se juntaram em palco em memória do guitarrista de blues B.B. King.
