O Serviço Nacional de Saúde da Irlanda (Republic's Health Service Executive - HSE) deitou abaixo, "por precaução", todo o sistema de computadores após ter sido alvo de um ataque 'ransomware', ou seja, um tipo de programa que permite a extorsão através do bloqueio de um computador exigindo um resgate.
There is a significant ransomware attack on the HSE IT systems. We have taken the precaution of shutting down all our our IT systems in order to protect them from this attack and to allow us fully assess the situation with our own security partners.

Na rede social Twitter, o serviço de saúde esclareceu que o agendamento das vacinas contra a covid-19 não foi afetado e, por isso mesmo, a vacinação vai decorrer conforme planeado.
