Através das redes sociais Twitter e Facebook, com curtas frases e muitas imagens, têm-se multiplicado as reações à morte do músico e produtor.
Em menos de duas horas, cerca de 2,8 milhões de mensagens foram divulgadas no Twitter, entre famosos e anónimos a lamentarem a morte do "génio de Minneapolis".
Ele mudou o mundo. Um verdadeiro visionário. Que perda. Estou devastada", afirmou Madonna no Twitter.
Também o vocalista dos Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger, usou aquela rede social para prestar homenagem ao "artista revolucionário” cujo “talento era infinito”.
“Estou profundamente chocado com a morte de Prince”, disse Mick Jagger na rede social Twitter, saudando “o artista revolucionário, o grande músico, o compositor, o maravilhoso letrista, e o extraordinário guitarrista”.
